In the span of a half-century, Edward G. Robinson (the "G" is for Goldenberg, his family name) made 101 movies. He is best remembered for playing gangster characters like Rico Bandello, which he played in the 1931 film Little Caesar. Robinson reached the height of his popularity in the 1930s and 1940s, starring with such actors as James Cagney, Bette Davis, and Humphrey Bogart. In 1973, Robinson won a posthumous Oscar for lifetime achievement.
